God is not willing to do everything, and thus deprive us of our free will and that share of glory which falls to our lot.
The Prince, Machievelli. using that one as a sig almost got me thrown off one of my book-related lists. It apparently majorly offended one of the more established presences on the list. |

From my favourite book, it goes something like:
"When a true genius appears in the world he should be known by that all the dunces are in confederacy against him" Jonathan Toole, A Confederacy of Dunces |

One of my favorites is a paraphrase. St. Augustine wrote, in an introduction, to counter some of the objections that he thought might be raised against his book. One of the objections was that his book would be hard to understand.
The paraphrase of his response is...It's not my fault that you're an idiot. |

My favorites at the moment are:
Go then, there are other worlds than these. We deal in lead. From Stephen Kings The Dark Tower series I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I've watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die. Roy in Blade Runner. |
