Google preps developers for one-size-fits-all Android update
Google preps developers for one-size-fits-all Android update Newest edition to work the same on smartphones and tablets By Brad Reed, Network World September 19, 2011 04:00 PM ET Google is preparing Android developers for the latest edition of its Android mobile operating platform that will work the same on both tablets and smartphones. Scott Main, the lead tech writer for Google's Android Developers Blog, Monday reminded developers that the newest edition of Android -- dubbed "Ice Cream Sandwich" -- will "support big screens, small screens and everything in between." Main also emphasized that Android would maintain "the same version ... on all screen sizes" going forward. more: http://www.networkworld.com/news/201...te-251030.html |

Personally I really like Google's approach to the phone/tablet space. Instead of treating Android like a phone OS and a tablet OS and hence different apps for each version. It's one one app that handles the different screen sizes.
From a consumer stand point that is a winner. Here is the Android Developer Blog post you are referencing. |

I love my Transformer just the way it is, but I'm waiting for Ice Cream Sandwich!

good, i hate getting apps that are the size that a phone screen is, or where something looks "stretched" to fit the screen like note pads
