Do you get the free eBook if you buy the physical one on Amazon?
Is it true that if I purchase a physical book from Amazon that I will get the Kindle book also for free?

Not free, no, but for a discount. I think what you're referring to might be Kindle Matchbook, which allows you to buy the ebook at a lower price if you've already purchased the print book new. Not all books qualify, you can check this link to see which ones do.

It also depends on the Matchbook price. It can be free if the settings are free in KDP for the book. Mine at set for Free if you have purchased the print book.
