Greetings from the Pacific Northwest
I've been reading ebooks since 2002. Originally on a Compaq PDA, then a Dell PDA, and now on a Kindle for the last three months. By far, the Kindle is the best device I've used for reading.

Welcome neighbor - I live near Seattle and also read on a Kindle. If you're in Washington, you might want to check if your public library offers ebooks in mobipocket format. If they do, you can use Kindlefix (Igorsk's python script) and they will work on your Kindle.

I live near Seattle too, Leep, but I'm holding off using the mobipocket fix until I'm sure it is legal.

Hi Monty Grue. I started on eBooks with a Compaq iPaq as well. Wasn't great but it got me hooked.
