Need help organizing library
I've been using a Kindle app on my DroidX for about a year and a half. For Christmas I got a Kindle Fire which I love. I have about 650 books but only about 100 of them are on my Fire. I desperately need a way to search/organize my books. I just dl'ed Calibre and was able to hook my Fire up to my computer and input the books from my Fire to Calibre. Now what about the rest of my books? Is there a way to get them from the "Manage Your Kindle Page" at Amazon into Calibre or should I be using different software? I even tried starting a spreadsheet myself and manually inputting the description of each book but after about 200 that got old! Any advice you can give would be greatly appreciated. I figure I couldn't possibly be the only person that has had this problem. How do others manage super large libraries? Thanks in advance, Lana |

Calibre is without question the best option for managing your e-book library. The only way I can think to get the rest of your Kindle books into Calibre is to send them to your Fire and then upload them to Calibre. If you think you may want to ever read them on anything other than an Amazon device, you might want to look into augmenting Calibre with some help from Apprentice Alf (google search) before you import the ebooks into Calibre. Sending 500 ebooks to your Fire and then uploading them to Calibre is bound to be tedious, but not as bad as a spreadsheet! Also, once done it is amazing what you can do in Calibre to organize your library. Good luck and welcome to the forum!!

If you don't want the rest of the books on your Fire, choose the 'Download & transfer via USB' option under the Actions tab on your Manage Your Kindle page. You'll have to do this one by one, which is tedious. Once you have all your books downloaded to your computer, add them to calibre by using the Add Books icon, or by highlighting, dragging and dropping the books into calibre.

Thanks so much for your help. I just wanted to let you know how I ended up resolving my problem. I dl'ed Kindle for PC then I dl'ed my books to that (which was pretty simple, just 2 clicks!) from there I imported them to Calibre.
