Top100EbooksRank - can you add me to our list. I sold 70,000+ copies of my Riyria Revelations between April 2010 and August 2011 (that's when Orbit (fantasy imprint of Big-six publisher Hachette Book Group) took over the series. Also you can add an * next to my entry as I had no publishing credentials before this series.

Amazon CEO yesterday announced that out of the top 100 Best Selling in the Kindle Store, 27 of them are from Kindle Direct Publishing.

Interesting numbers. I wonder how many of those 27 would have been there without KDP or KDP Select. I'm also wondering when Smashwords is going to finally get its link with Amazon fixed so it can start distributing there.

So yeah, 1984 didn't happen, the Second Impact never happened, the Eugenics War didn't happen but we're only a few elections away from the Sanctuary Districts, the Centauri haven't put a jump gate into orbit, we don't have domed cities because of excessive pollution or radiation, we never had any nuclear wars, we don't have Boomers or Replicants, we don't have any fully-developed megacorps yet, governments still exist (thank gawd), the Flying Car Guy is still trying to prove he can make a product that can go higher than 40 feet, we're still using the dirtiest possible energy sources, we don't have a Handicapper-General (thank gawd), none of the Presidents have gone off the deep end and declared themselves dictator... Dunno, I think we got a not too bad deal compared to what could've happened. |

Good question. If these 27 books were available at other online shops, would they have sold as well on Amazon?

George W. Bush came pretty close and we didn't get off at all. The US has a surplus of money, the economy was good and the US was doing well. The along comes George W. Bush and now look where it got us. If the republicans win for President, we may as well move to Canada.

(I've counted the covers a few times and I can't find the 27th book...) So of the 26 books, 6 are no longer with KDP and only 6 are still with Select. I also think that maybe the 2 books with Entangled shouldn't really count. |

So to summarise the list, almost the only thing that sells is romance?
