I have begun Round 1 Revisions on "A New Kind of Sunrise". In a spectacularly clever avoidance tactic, my brain has brought over to MobileRead instead. (It's hoping to get caught up in an interesting conversation, thus saving me from having to focus on the heartless task of fixing holes in the plot.)
So please, everyone: Be as BORING as possible... |

Here's the opening line that popped into my head this morning:
"It was in June that I realized the cat was trying to control my mind. ..." is that boring enough? |

That is an awesome first line, Kenny. I'd want to read that story.

Working on rewrites of my first zombie novel, a number of short stories, and a memoir.
The short story collection has a working title of "This Is Not Going To End Well ". |

Yep, better get writing Kenny, we all want to see it.
I want to know: If a book has a prologue, is the first line that of the prologue or the first line of chapter 1? (Is a prologue a way of hedging your bets? ) |

Surely the first line is in the prologue? It forms part of the story, without which we would be missing something.

Working on my Camp NaNoWriMo novel, which means ultra-rough draft. It's a superhero novel, and supposed to be a sequel to something I wrote a few years ago. I have no idea how many words I've written lately, because I haven't plugged in my Alphasmart to get them onto the computer.

I am editing Don Quixote, Warlord of Mars, putting the ingenious man of La Mancha on the red planet. I wrote it for NanoWriMo last year, and I'm glad I haven't rushed to publish it. I'm going through and making sure my paragraphs are properly formatted, changing the text to use pronouns instead of the proper name when the pronoun is more appropriate. Now I have a few more ideas that need to be thrown in, so I'm adding a few more chapters.

I just finished writing a short script for a video interview segment, me being interviewed by... an empty chair. (At the last minute, the interviewer gets an opportunity to interview Amanda Hocking, and bails on me.)
It was really just to pass the time; I have no video equipment or facilities, so I'm sure it'll never get done. Back to story development. |
