Hello,

How Can I ignore accents when I search a title or a author?

Example: Author "John Le Carré" ....SEARCH ---> author:Carre

Thanks in advance

Well, you can go to "Advanced Search", switch to regular expressions at the top of the panel and enter, say,
Code:
Carr[eé]
or
Code:
Carr.
in the "author" field. It is a workaround, a bit of typing, but it works and I use it quite frequently.

Disadvantage: a basic understanding of regular expressions is needed. But it is well worth to learn about regexp. You'll be a much happier Calibre user. It is one of the very powerful features of Calibre.

Oh, I found a much simpler way: you simply type in the normal search field
Code:
~Carr.
or
Code:
~Carr[eé]
Apparently, a tilde ("~") introduces a regexp. The simplest one is a dot ".", which stands for any single character. This should cover many of your cases. A set of characters, e.g. "[eéè]" matches any of those in the brackets and therefore effectively strips the accents.
