The most amazing cloud formations tonight as we walked to pick up our curry!
A lower layer of towering cloud - the ender belly charcoal grey but the higher the clouds stood, the brighter they became until white at the top - and with blue sky beneath and above. Beautiful. No doubt the cloud formation has a name but I have no clue what - except 'very pretty'. |

Another warm and sunny day. Expecting temps in the high 90s again. Still no much needed rain.

Had close to record breaking temps on Tuesday. Smashed the old temp on Wednesday. Muggy today but then will drop to 13C for tomorrow. Big change from 2-3 days of 30C+ temps.

Darkness...as in I can't believe it's gone dark before 8pm - nature is just rubbing in the fact that summer has finished - that and the rain and winds.

The days are starting to cool off. It should only reach the mid-90s today.
And WOW. A rain cloud appeared right over my house about 4:30 this morning and lightly rained for about 5 minutes. Just enough to turn the dust to grunge. Ahhhh...Ma Nature and her jokes. Whatever happened to the idea of treating all your kidlies in a fair and equitable manner? |

Yesterday's dramatic thunderstorms appear to have wrung all the humidity out of the air. It's very, very nice outside right now.

I'm shivering. Chicago is a day ahead of you on these air masses. I had to put on a jacket to walk the dog last night. It's 69F right now, in the middle of the afternoon.

It's raining, luckily it's going to stop in the next hour or so according to the rain radar. It has rained a lot in the past week and according to the weather predictions it will be rainy for at least the next week.

Signs of incoming colder weather:
1. Caterpillars? No 2. Falling leaves? No 3. Migrating geese? No 4. 2 cats calmly sharing the top shelf of the cat tree? And touching? YES! |

Our average September temperature is 90F. For the first half of this month it's averaged 97F. We should finally get some rain tomorrow night (won't do much for our severe drought though), and with a cold front coming through we should be down in the 80s by the weekend. Yippee! |
