Angry Error: "can only concatenate list (not "unicode") to list"

Hi, there, Calibre Fans;
this message (in the title) appeared when I imported my existing ebooks from a directory (incl. subdirectories) and apperars furtheron when I try to view or edit the meta data of a single ebook in the list.
What does this error mean and how do I get rid of it.
OS: Linux 3.3.6-solusos (i686), Debian/Ubuntu based
Any help will be appreciated.
Thx.

Thumbs up solved!

Finally I've got it done.
After removing and reinstalling Calibre via Synaptic anything works fine

If the repository is not dishing up a Calibre 9.xx, version.
I would Uninstall with Synaptic, then go install using the command line on the Calibre Linux page
