Color how do you remove the back of the jetbook color?

tried prying it open, but didn't want to use too much force...

Only the top smaller section comes off. Turn the device over (back facing you), put one hand either side with your fingers wrapping around to the front and each thumb on the back. Push upwards towards the top of the device with your thumbs on the top section and it should slide off.

Orly.. I thought it was the bottom that slides out ( as do most devices do )

might be you need special gear to pry open the case, or unscrew some screws.
I've seen behind the top part, there's space for a SIM card?
What else is there, space for a battery?

I've only had a glance at the back device opened.

yeah, the top comes off easily when I push it

space for a sim card (no underlying hardware though, just like a hole in the plastic assembly for a sim-card shaped object, and also a miniWAN card + antenna shape?

and the bottom of the back seems to be held in with 2 screws... maybe i'll remove them whenI have time to play... don't seem to have any "void if removed" stickers/tags

I remember looking at jetbook Color brochures/pdfs/accessories and seeing stuff like GPS and battery replacement... I guess it could be user-removable/replacable parts...

Doubt it...
Batteries like those are generally permanent.
However, perhaps after 3 or 4 years you may want to look for replacement cells.
