Folder System Gen3
Hi I am having great difficulty understanding the loading system both to the main device and the SD card in Mobipocket reader on my PC both drives show together so how do you assign different books to each individual drive also I have found on the main drive there are 3 files of the same book but on the memory card only 2 is that because I loaded the memory card via a card reader and not through the Gen3
I would be very grateful if someone could explain I've gone through the manual but find it lacking in examples Keith |

Okay, the first thing you need to determine is whether you're talking about the .prc/.mobi (which is the ebook itself), the .mbp (which contains info on where you are in the ebook and what fonts/sizes, etc. that you've chosen) or the .t2b which is the thumbnail cover image displayed by the Cybook. All these are generated by the Cybook when you add new ebooks *AND* fire up the Cybook with the SD card attached. However, if you let Mobipocket sync your ebooks to the SD card, it will only add the .prc/.mobi and the .mbp files. Which isn't really a problem because the Cybook *WILL* create the .t2b file once the SD card is inserted and the page (in the Library) containing the ebook displays. In other words, the Cybook will take care of creating the necessary files. Derek |

I think the original poster is asking how he can decide which books go into main memory and which onto the SD card, using Windows Desktop Mobi Reader to load books.
The answer is "you can't". Mobi Reader allows you to specify a single sync location, and that's where the files go. My advice would be to forget Windows Mobi Reader and load files manually to the Gen3. Simply open a Windows Explorer window on either the drive labelled "Gen3" (which is the internal memory) or the "SD Card" drive (the Gen3's SD card) and simply copy files from your computer to the "ebooks" folder on the appropriate drive. |
