Nexus 9 was released on 3 November 2014
Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 3 September 2015 Newer is better when it comes to tablets. Are they even still making the Nexus 9? How degraded will the battery be? |

I went to Bestbuy today to look at the tablets. I had originally thought to get a new fire 8, but once I looked at the Samsung s2....I fell in love. 😃 I can't decide if I want the 8 inch or the 9.7. What do you guys suggest? Also, what is the battery life on the s2? I know previous versions had issues of quick battery drains.
Thanks, Penny |

I have the 8 inch and it's the perfect size. The battery life is quite good, it can last me all day, obviously I'm not on it constantly but I'm listening to music or audiobooks and surfing the net on and off. The battery life isn't as good as my iPad mini 4 but I'm happy with it. |

Note, that is 10 hours of the tablet constantly on. Now if I just want to use it for Pandora, I plug it in. Oh I have both a Galaxy and a Fire. I much prefer the Galaxy. It is the 8 inch. Fits in my purse nicely too. |

8 inch is a very nice size for reading
I've a 10" asus transformer prime, and it was just too big for 1 handed reading. my 8.4" samsung tabpro is a fantastic size for battery life, just remember that you can have wifi turned off, screen brightness cranked way down, and probably get close to double the rated battery |

Well, I ended up getting the 9.7 and had to return it a week later. The first few days were awesome. I loved the tablet. Then... it started acting up. When I plugged it in for charging it would make the "ding" noise and I would see that it stopped charging. A few minutes later, it would "ding" again and show charging.(without even moving the device) The customer service technician at bestbuy confirmed a faulty charging port. I also noticed fast draining of the battery even with battery saving feature enabled. I didn't want to risk it happening again, so I returned it for an ipad air 2. My husband has his idevices last a really long time. I end up with new androids every year, because of mechanical issues. I just want a device that will last me at least two years.

My Nexus 7 (2013) is coming up on 3 years, never a problem... Currently running latest Android too. My Nexus 9 has also been reliable so far.
