Sony - Rating as Collection - how to modify the collection-name
Some days ago, I decided having the rating of the books within calibre as a collection on my Sony-reader. I added "rating" in the Sony-device-interface-plugin and got 6 new collections on the device - representing the 0 to 5 stars rating. So far so good.
But now, I want to change the names for this collections, because 0, 2, 4, 6, 8 an 10 is not very nice for a collection name (my opinion). So I started searching and sadly found no solution for changing this collection-names. Has someone changed these names before and can tell me, who to do? (Surely it is so simple within calibre, that it was too easy to find, which was the problem than.) in advance for your support! Best regards ThR Last edited by ThR; 03-17-2011 at 07:34 AM. |

On your device, go into 'collections', then go into the collection you want to rename, and then hit 'options'. There's an option there to rename the collection.
Hope that helps! |

Create a composite custom column (column made from other columns). In the template, use something like
Code:
{rating:switch(10,Best,8,Good,6,OK,4,Passable,2,Terrible,0,Unread,Unread)} |

@pegster - that would create a new category within calibre with no association to the rating-column. That would result in double effort for rating the books (rating itself + category)
@chaley - what I said - too simple. That is the trick! Thank you both! |

@chaley - one problem: I created the custom column (search-name: sonyrating) and entered the search-name into the according field at the device-plugin for creating collections (now filled with "tags, series, rating, sonyrating"). But the collections are not created.

Search names for custom columns have a '#' in front, so you should enter #sonyrating.
