How long does it take to charge?
My Opus finally arrived!
I'm busy charging it and it still seems to be charging after about 4 hours have elapsed. I had to unplug it when I left work, but plugged it in again as soon as I got home. How long does the Opus take to fully charge? The booklet says around 3 hours. I hope nothing is wrong with my unit. BTW. I'm assuming the red light turns off once it is completely charged. Is this correct? Last edited by Crusader; 11-23-2009 at 01:20 PM. |

I did turn it on briefly, to check if it's working and the battery meter did show 100%. I was expecting the light to go off when done charging. Can anyone confirm the behavior of the Opus?

Well, it's been charging for almost 7 hours now and the light is still on. I'm going to bed soon and don't know whether I should leave the PC on to see if it actually requires such a long charging time.

What I found on the Gen3, it does charge for (some) 3 hours, then stops to prevent overcharge. Should be full by then anyway. Besides, it does not seem to charge any less, when plugged in on full battery.
[EDIT]Sorry, just saw your post. Could be that the USB-port of your PC does not provide enough current to charge at full speed. Last edited by T_Frain_K; 11-23-2009 at 03:56 PM. |

As frain said, your battery should be charged well enough.
It's better to switch it off, don't overcharge it uselessly. Last edited by EowynCarter; 11-23-2009 at 04:02 PM. |

The Cybook's do charges by cycle of 3 hours, so if after a cycle the battery is not 100%, it will do another of 3 hours, so to shutdown the charge led, you will need generally 3h or 6h
