Unable to convert the pdf files correctly

Hello Friends,

I just got my SonyPRS-505 SC. When I was uploading the following three types of documents to my Sony reader, I was unable to keep the original format, figures and tables etc.,

Can you please advise me on how can transfer the following three types
documents to my sony reader without loosing the style, format and tables
and figures etc.,

This would be very useful for me as I am research student and this would
immensely help for my reading such pdf files.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Regards
RN

BTW, the second link above should be: http://ocw.mit.edu/NR/rdonlyres/Aero...coop_decis.pdf

Using PDFRead 1.8.2, the sample conversions attached were made using Portrait mode.

If you don't mind reading the pages in landscape mode, then you may try Landscape mode and get larger text at the cost of two page turns for each .pdf page.

Other non-conventional ways to convert .pdf to .lrf/.pdf would be to use Caritas' pi or Kwon's PaperCrop.

Hope this helps!

Conversion result with PDFLRF & PaperCrop

I tried converting the files using PDFLRF and PaperCrop and they look quite reasonable.

1)
44-pdflrf.lrf: converted by PDFLRF using landscape mode

2)
040604coop_decis-pdflrf.lrf: converted by PDFLRF using comic-landscape mode

3)
periodic_table-papercrop.pdf: converted by PaperCrop to PDF
periodic_table-papercrop-pdflrf.lrf: The previous PDF is re-converted to LRF by PDFLRF using comic-potrait mode
I re-converted to LRF because LRF is much faster than PDF on my PRS 505.
You can see that the last table is not converted properly.
You can manually re-converted the last page using PaperCop if you set the default output as separate images intead of PDF.

Hope this helps.

soilwork,

Thank you for your reply with suggested solutions. I liked your suggestion of convertion by PDFLRF using landscape mode.

I am unable to download "PaperCrop" as the link is not working, can you provide me any alternative link.

Thanks again for your help.

Glad to be of help and I am attaching the 0.3 version of PaperCrop here. I guess his homepage is down for now.

BTW, to get the optimal result in PDFLRF, you may have to change some options such as smartcut, crop sides properly. It is fairly user-friendly so you will soon find your favorite setting.
