BBC Breakfast

Hi All,

BBC Breakfast had the Sony reader on air this morning.

They mentioned it could only take books from Waterstones!

Who does their research?

If I had mine I would have been on the phone, but unfortunately I can only tell them what I have read, not what I have experienced.

Regards

Chris

Sony certainly seem to be having a successful publicity campaign for the Reader's launch - that's for sure! Let's hope that the sales are good.

I saw it on the news today and yesterday on TV, so it is getting some good coverage, shame they haven't a clue about the facts, but hey, its getting it out there I guess.

I spoke to Sony Style in the UK yesterday and they claimed to have sold out of the first shipment.........great news for them if true. Waterstones have them in stock now online and in store, so still some out there. My preorder has just shipped from Waterstones today.

My local branch has 15 in stock and 4 preorders. Not bad for Middlesbrough.

Waterstones Swindon had 9 on Monday with 3 pre ordered, plus my one.

Sony had 3 in Swindon and are not taking pre orders but giving them to Waterstones.

I have been looking at the Waterstones' site for a couple of weeks and have yet to see any ebooks available, am I missing something obvious?

Given that you can pre-order the PRS-505 I would have thought that Waterstones would be pushing ebooks as hard as possible.

Several reviews said that ebook store will be available on the Reader release date. So check back tomorrow.

says:
"Thousands of eBooks to download at Waterstones.com/eBooks from early September 2008"

But maybe not this early.
