PB 602/902 review

Preview actually. In Russian only.

http://www.the-ebook.org/?p=5042

I tried to translate main points:
-
1.Visible diifference between E-Ink VizPlex 220 and Pearl / more visible when graphical object are displayed and less in terms of text visualisation/ - They have comared Sony Reader 650 and PocketBook 602 Pro .
2. Browser is slow
3. Poor interface
4. Despite of the build in Bluetooth module you can't synchronize two or more devices.

+
1. Build quality
2 A lot of settings available
3. Good batery life
4. Fast page turning
5. Text to speech
6. Programme support

The review has left the feeling PDF is a mix bag, but as a whole 902 must be the best device in this area so far. PDF zoom is fast enough. I think its PDF capabilities are really important so a lot of questions left here.
Although the review is vast it is somehow empty. I have the feeling it isn't detailed enough and the best part of it are pictures taken.

Hello

If you use, per example, the google translation page (http://www.google.pt/language_tools?hl=us) it does a pretty understandable work out of the page.

Best regards,

Pocketbook is a sponsor of that Russian web site, so you should take that into account. To their credit, though, they explicitly stated so in their review of new Pocketbooks. Unfortunately, the main question of how 902 handles PDF and DJVU files remains unanswered. Perhaps, there is a reason why it is not mentioned in the paid for reivew.

The review in the comments wrote that "I do not consider E-Ink" device suitable for reading PDF in principle, and so he did not test PDF.

Without evidentiary assumption that the review was paid for is ridiculous ... At least if you know how much the author tries to review all soih surveys to be objective ...

For your interest:

Forkosigan published the manual of the Pocketbook602 (which should be quite similar to the 902) in the German subforum in the thread Neue Modelle präsentiert:

https://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=95364

It is on page 21, post 314, and don't worry - it is in English!

In the user comments many people asked about PDF and DJVU files handling. Why would anybody otherwise buy a large screen 902? Its primary use for most users would be technical documentation in PDF or DJVU format. The response of the reviewer to those questions essentially was "if you want to know how 902 handles PDF and DJVU then BUY THE DEVICE and see for yourselves." That response alone is an automatic no-buy of 902 for me for now as it says much more than anything he could have said in the actual review.

That website is sponsored by Pocketbook. In effect, the review is paid for by Pocketbook. If the author tried to be objective he would not outright refuse to discuss PDF and DJVU files.
