iRex iLiad hi-res closeups

While I am sure you're not going to be disappointed about the hi-res photos of the iLiad attached to this post (and if not for the reader itself than at least for Gisele Bündchen), make sure to also check out Henrique's ongoing hands-on review. He is providing some excellent details about the iRex iLiad which should help you decide if it's going to be worth your bucks (once it's available).

Nice pics thanks!

Interesting that 3rd pic shows the Sony Libre having a lighter or brighter background than the iLiad while the others all the reverse.

Contrast on the Libre looks good enough for me. Any chance we can get more pics of the Libre?

I could be wrong, but judging by the screen size in the second picture, the libries screen length is slightly longer than the length of the Iliads center long bar/button. In the third picture the one on the left is far longer than that center bar, so I am assuming that it is a comparison of a paper book and the Iliad.

Cool

The 3rd picture is quite obviously a real book - the text is slightly warped due to the page curl.

I love this! People to have started to not to see the difference between eBook Readers and actual printed books...!!!!

(It means e-ink text sharpness must be very good for this mistake to be made at a quick glance.)

It also shows that the photos were taken in fairly average lighting conditions. The paper of a real book normally looks white to our eyes, yet looks gray in the photo. So the iLiad screen is going to look much better in real life too. I've heard before that photos don't do the e-ink screens justice.

It makes sense that the photos we see don't do eink screens justice. We are looking at those phots on a computer, which means on a computer screen. We know computer screens can't display in a paper-like manner, so we shouldn't expect them to display in an eink-like manner. I think that is why the eink screens can look lcd-ish when viewed via an lcd screen.
