Exclamation Kobo sync issue

I am using a basic Kobo wireless and it has worked well for about 2 months now but am now experiencing a problem with copying books and news to it. I am using Fedora 15 and or Win7 with calibre software and it keeps giving me this error.

database disk image is malformed

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "site-packages/calibre/gui2/device.py", line 62, in run
File "site-packages/calibre/gui2/device.py", line 298, in _books
File "site-packages/calibre/devices/kobo/driver.py", line 195, in books
DatabaseError: database disk image is malformed
Please assist me with this. I have tried several cables and 2 different pc's with Win7 and linux with the same problem. Kobo desktop doesnt even see it when I plug it in. Thank you in advance for your time.

there's a problem with your database. this was tackled somewhere in this forum but your best bet would be to factory reset and reload your books onto the kobo.

you have to be careful to correctly eject your reader from the pc or you'll corrupt the database, also having books with weird characters in their names can cause errors.

hope that helps some.

It appears that a reset has fixed my Kobo and am now able to transfer books using Calibre. Thank you for the advice, once again i am a happy reading camper! Good day to you.
