Exclamation Calibre Mac app steals the minimize hotkey
Please don't override standard OS hotkeys. I'd like to be able to continue using the normal macOS hotkey to minimize all my graphical applications: Command + M. Please don't mess with this hotkey.

Not interested in performing extra configuration work on my installation. I want Calibre to integrate better with macOS out of the box.

We don't need to specialize anything.

Just don't override very common hotkeys, for any platform, from any platform. Use a different hotkey than Super+M for marking books.

super+m is not a common hotkey on any platform other than macos that I know of.

Yes, it would. One has to make the entire set of defaults internally consistent and test that they dont conflict with platform defaults for every system. THis is simply not worth the ongoing effort.

Device: I use the Calibre ebook-viewer on macos and Apple Books on ios.
Huh there's a keyboard shortcut for that? I hate learning keyboard shortcuts... except the ones I customize lol, I did make a keyboard shortcut for viewing books I suppose.
