Desk - Electric cords - Mess

With the numerous devices needing re-charging these days e.g. laptop, eReader, Blackberry, etc. the number of cords on my desk is making a mess.

My question: What ingenious

method have you of keeping the cords from becoming a rat's nest and being able to find the one you need when you need it?

Tape a label on the plug, so that you can tell which charger is which.

All the plugs for my various devices are neatly labelled, all labels reading correctly when earth pin is to the left (UK square pin plugs). This satisfies the inner anal-retentive. Unhappily, the curse of chaos somehow intrudes into this neat system approx 50% of the way along each lead. So now I'm waiting for that fabled universal inductance charger to eliminate the rat's nest...

Chargepod looks awesome! I just bought an imac to replace my PC, that helps with desktop computer cable mess too. I went from 5 computer cables and 6 speakers cable (11 cables total) to 1 cable on the imac (power cable). 27" screen is also obscenely good.
