Lightbulb Request: Another concept for book addings

Hi,
actually we can add book via menu' in this way:

1) One folder, each file is a different book
2) Multiple folders, one book in each folder
3) Multiple folders, different books in each folder
4) Via zip/rar archive.

I ask you 2 more options based on the same concept:
  • One folder, consider files with the same name (and different extension) as one book
  • Multiple folders, consider files with the same name (and different extension) as one book

IIRC (3) already considers books with the same filename and different extensions to be a single book.

As for treating files with the same filename in different folders as the same book, that is a bridge too far.

Is there a way to automatically find and merge same books after they have been added ?

Try the 'Find duplicates' plugin.

It doesn't do the Job. Merging is always a manual action.
