Yeah, once DRM is gone, formats don't really matter.
Before iTunes was somewhere I'd never buy since it was DRM'd AAC and my creative MP3 player doesn't support AAC period. Once DRM was gone, no big deal since you could easily convert to MP3 within iTunes without hassling with removing DRM etc. Moot for me as I still buy CDs.....but leebase is write. Converting formats is very painless. Stripping DRM is an added hassle and takes more know how than just converting in a program like Calibre. |

There really is a universal format. The problem is the DRM used is not universal thanks to Apple and B&N.
