I can't say I've found the pace too slow, but then I've only had a little bit of time to read the book. Whenever I do pick it up to read I've found it absorbing and interesting.

I finished the book. I found it slow at times but it is a good start to a story. In other series by Moon I found slow spots. In some ways she is trying to develop the characters or the story.

I enjoyed the book. I'm not really a fantasy reader, I didn't know about this book before but I liked it. I bought the trilogy and am reading the rest now

Loved to read His Majesty's Dragon and I'm now on the 6th book in the Temeraire series, but I'm a bit dissapointed. It moves even slower than Sheepfarmers daughter and at this point I'm more than halfway through.
