Rohmer, Sax: Bimbashi Baruk of Egypt, v.1, 10 March 2008.
This title was released under a Creative Commons License, with additional acknowledgement placed at the end of the book. Book was acquired from Munseys, BUT REFORMATED BY ME TO MY SPECIFICATIONS.
_______________________________________ This is a Sax Rohmer collection of stories written under the name of Michael Furey. I have yet to read this collection, but apparently Bimbashi Baruk is asociated with (I think) the Camel Corps in Africa, but works for British Military Intelligence. The Publisher’s blurb (included as an introduction), states that Baruk has an “uncanny power of scenting crime.” I don’t know if this interferes with dining out or not, but I do know that Sax Rohmer is able to write incredibly fun and ridiculous books, populated with murder and mysticism. All his books (that I’ve encountered) are also grounded in an oriental background. I hope you enjoy it. |
