Amazon verteilt offensichtlich neue Firmware 2.5
In den englischsprachigen Foren, insbesondere bei
http://www.kindleboards.com/index.ph...,23791.50.html drehen sie (berechtigterweise) ziemlich hoch. Scheinbar haben die ersten bereits die neue Firmware auf ihrem device. Hört sich wirklich alles sehr, sehr gut an. Yo, aber der offizielle Launch ist für Ende Mai angekündigt. Da werden gerade Leser zu unfreiwilligen Betatestern. Man kann das Update ja noch nicht einmal herunterladen.

Seit dem automatischen Update meines KDXi auf die 2.5 ist bei mir das komplette Internet über whipsernet frei geschaltet. Feine Sache, d.h. Calibre2Opds z.B. geht einwandfrei übers das Netz etc. ...
Hat jemand schonmal etwas offizielles dazu gehört? Hat Amazon, respektive AT&T neue Roamingverträge ausgehandelt? Ist auf jedenfalls genial, ich geb das Feature nicht mehr freiwillig her |

Hallo Sischa, darf ich dich nochmal zum Testen mißbrauchen?. Theoretisch müsste es doch auch möglich sein sich bei seinem email-Provider (z.B. GMX) einzuloggen und dort mails zu lesen und auch zu schreiben. Das wär natürlich ein Ding. könnte man weltweit emails empfangen und senden.

super, danke dir. jetzt nur noch hoffen dass amazon uns dieses nette feature nicht wieder abschaltet. jetzt fehlt nur noch eine email-app für den kindle - wer braucht dann noch ein ipad oder iphone ;-). und so geht das warten auf das update weiter.........

GMX über Kindle
Hallo Zusammen...
Das Englische Wikipedia ist doch kostenlos beim Kindle oder? (keine Roaming Gebühren) Wenn ich jetzt GMX oder so nutze werd ich ja Roaming Gebühren bezahlen müssen. Wisst ihr wie hoch da die Preise pro MB sind? Hab mal von 1€ pro MB gehört... Könnte also relativ teuer werden oder täusch ich mich da? Viele Grüße Stefan |

dürfte Amazon überhaupt einfach Extragebühren erheben für die Internetnutzung, ohne uns das vorher mitzuteilen? Immerhin haben wir nie einem Vertrag zugestimmt, der sowas beinhaltet? Oder doch?

Nein, dürften sie nicht. Würden sie auch nicht. Aber grundsätzlich wäre es denkbar, dass AT&T plötzlich mehr Geld haben will und Amazon gar nichts anderes übrig bleibt, als Surf-Tarife einzuführen.
Ich fand das Surfen für lau über Mobilfunk schon immer höchst erstaunlich. |

Der Mai ist zu Ende. Gibt es etwas neues zur Firmware 2.5. Bei mir ist nichts angekommen. Nichtmal das Update auf 2.3.3. Habe immer noch nur 2.3.

Es scheint endlich loszugehen mit dem Update. In den amerikanischen Foren berichten eine Vielzahl on Leuten vom Empfang der Version 2.5.2
