Related question...is there a way to turn a service off and on without restarting? Only way I know to do it is to go into msconfig, and it doesn't take effect w/o restarting.

What I can't figure is why it isn't more common. Are Wacom boards really that rare among ebook people? I'd think with covers and such it would be coming up all the time. I wonder if it's just the intuos 4 drivers....I know someone with a bamboo who's using Sigil...I'll ask if she's having a problem.

and while the x86 version runs on this machine, it runs very slowly unless I turn off the Wacom.

Got to "Start" and type there "services.msc" and click enter. Now you can edit the start behavior for every service or turn it on/off.
An other possibility is to use the task manager. There is a tab "services". There you can turn services on/off with a right click.

but I'm still going to write them. It's something they s/b aware of.

If you find that you are turning a service on/off frequently then you can create a bat file on your desktop with the commands:

net start "service name"
pause

and surprise, surprise

net stop "service name"
pause

You can get the service name from the services tab of task manager or services.msc
Include the quotes if the name has spaces, e.g. Wacom Tablet Service

For anyone not sure how to create a bat file just create a text file and then rename it.
e.g create wacomstop.txt and rename to wacomstop.bat

This has been a pretty interesting thread. I'm on WinXP and I've got a wacom tablet - but I have not used it for at least a year. Recent projects (and the possibility of upgrading to Win7) had me thinking I should re-connect the tablet.

By all means keep us apprised of anything you learn from Wacom.
