If its an exclusive with DRM its going to be pirated, its just the way it is. Ironically unless its actively distributed in a non DRM format pirates tend to leave the non-DRM stuff relatively alone making it trick to track down by that route. DRM to pirates is like bulls and red flags.

Amazon won.
I pulled the trigger on a K2. Total price for K2 + Cover + 1 day ship was the same 349.96 I paid for my 700 when it was brand new...before tax. Doesn't seem too bad, I guess. |

The only formats available that I saw Mistborn 2 (3 is a moot point, since it was released simultaniously) were MOBI, which is now owned by Amazon.
Andy - I find myself feeling a little dirty for cheating on my Sonies. I just got 5 books that will DL as soon as my K2 is out of the box. Not one of them is available on BoB, FW, ebooks, or sony... I'm sort of excited though. I have them all in dead tree but can't bring myself to lug around the hardcovers anymore. |

$199 Kindle 1 refurbs on sale is really making me itch.
but barnes and noble plastic logic in the same sentence makes me want to wait. plus I don't really need a new reader. |

Amazon does own mobipocket.com (The webshop and software house) and the DRM scheme used on top of MOBI. Of course the DRM has been cracked long ago, the software house is dead, the webshop is dying. Ahh, well... Martin |

I have an old copy of Chrome by George Nader, Rock Hudson's main squeeze. Would love to be able to get it electronically; but I'm not so in the mood that I'd cut the spine off the book and stand at a scanner and scan the entire book.

Not hard to understand if you look at the basics, Sony has always been electronics and Amazon is books. The Sony book store may never be as good as Amazon's but look for other sources for reading material. I enjoy checking out ebooks from libraries, something Amazon can't offer for the same price, FREE
