Favourite type of reading
I've tried to think of the main types, but have probably not succeeded. If you have to use the "Other" category, please specify in a post.

I like most of the types of non-fiction I listed, but my favourites are History and Science and my favourite types of fiction are the classics and crime fiction.

I suspect a lot of people here will go for the Science and Science Fiction categories. Internet communities tend to be biased this way
EDIT: On second thought, this community seems to house a lot of people interested in the classics. So maybe we'll see a trimodal poll distribution. Last edited by miguel1626; 06-10-2011 at 06:40 PM. |

My favorites are fantasy & SciFi, but I am also interested in Historical Fiction & Romance. I forgot to add "Other" for Erotica.

I assume Fiction: Crime would include Mysteries. My other vote is for Westerns.
I also voted for Science Fiction and History. |

classics, scifi, mystery for me.
I wonder how many people ticking classics go for quality or freelies in the public domain... I don't download things just because they are free, I tend to prize quality. And what better filter for quality than time?... |

I have to say that my e-reader has finally got me to read any pre-1900 classics as I used to hate carrying around a BIG book. I also cringe when I have to break a spine to a thick tome paperback. I prefer the hardcovers but they too are hard to carry all the time when they are so long and thick. Since my e-reader, I don't think twice about reading a LONG book. As long as I am reading, I am happy.

I used 'other' for cozy or vintage mysteries -- my alternate choice would have been sewing nonfiction.

I went with Classics, Crime (mysteries) and Science Fiction though I do like the occasional book in some other genre's as well.

I went for classics, and have just recently started reading them when I got my e-reader, I agree that I downloaded them because they were free, but I had never really paid much attention to them before and I am happy I did because I am really enjoying them!
