HTML to EPUB cellpadding
Hi, I'm new to this forum. I've already found some answers here, but I tried searching for an answer to the following question without any luck.
I'm using Calibre to convert HTML to EPUB (for the iPad). The HTML uses cellpadding="6" on the table tag to get margins within table cells, but this apparently is not observed as I get no cell margins in the epub (as viewed with the iPad or the Firefox add-on). I also tried setting style="margin-left: 6; margin-right: 6" on the table element and on a td element, but this also seemed to have no effect. Can anyone tell me what construct I need to use in the HTML in order to get cell margins in the epub? Thanks, Gary |

OK, I figured out padding-left/right/top/bottom work on td (but not on table).

I'll just add that using something like 6pt gives much more consistent results across Firefox vs the iPad than unitless stuff. (I never was big on such but I didn't write the HTML, it came out of a program.)
