That 10% is based on figures some analyst pulled from his ass. They're not actual sales statistics.

E Ink had 126% growth in their sales from Q1 2008 to Q1 2009, apparently the new device owners buy more books than the old owners. Or possibly people are hearing more about e-books and are reading them even without having a proper dedicated device to read them on.
