Captain Lacey Regency Mysteries by Ashley Gardner $0.99 - $1.99 at Smashwords & other
From the author's website, the first in this series, The Hanover Square Affair, is on sale for a limited time for $0.99 at Smashwords and elsewhere. Several others in the series are $1.99 at Smashwords, which appears to be a "regular" (but also good) price. And there is a new ebook-original novella, The Necklace Affair, which is also $0.99.
These are also available at some of the other usual culprits (Amazon and BN at least, haven't looked elsewhere), but the nice part about Smashwords is they are hassle-free multi-format. These were originally published as DTB in the mid-2000's, and I read a couple of them then and liked them. They are a bit dark, definitely not "cozy" Regency mysteries, but I still enjoyed them. I'm especially happy though, to see more backlist getting put out as e-books at reasonable prices - woo-hoo!!! Oh, and BTW, Ashley Gardner is a pen name for Jennifer Ashley, who writes some fantasy and other fiction, and is (I suspect) better known under that name...
