Question re Kindle and library borrowing

One of the reasons I wanted to get a Kindle was to simplify library e-book borrowing. I could have e-books sent to a Kindle wirelessly, where I have to download the book on my PC and then sideload them to my Nook.

I just put a hold on a library book, happy to be able to avoid the sideloading, when I saw that under "Kindle" on the e-book, it said, "for use on Kindle devices transferred by USB only."

Does anyone know why that is and if it will become standard? It's very annoying.

The publisher Penguin is restricting it.

It's just that publisher that does this. There is a work around it though. Once you download the file to your PC it adds it to your archives. You can then go to your MYK page and send it to your Kindle or from your Kindle access it from your Archives.
