Reader is Frozen in On postion.

This is the first time this has happened. The Reader is on and frozen. Will a reset help this. Can anyone tell me how to do this?

Which reader do you have?

On the 505, there's a hole on the back (labeled RESET). On the 650, the hole is on the bottom.

From the 650 manual:

Quote:
Reset the Reader by pressing the RESET hole
with a small pin or clip  slide the power
switch to restart the Reader.
The content and settings stored on the Reader are
not affected by resetting.
Notes
 The bookmarks, highlights, handwritten memos, or the
setting information may be deleted by resetting.
 The screen will not change after pressing the RESET
hole. Slide the power switch to restart the Reader.
 Do not push the RESET hole with a breakable point,
such as the graphite of a mechanical pencil. It causes
the RESET hole to be blocked.
The 505 manual says something similar: press the reset (insert the paper clip), the slide the power switch to turn it on.

Good luck.

Thanks so much for the reply John. We've got it fixed, silly thing.
It's a 600 and the reset worked to defrost it.

Glad to hear. The other possibility was simply a dead battery. The way E-ink works you get no indication because the screen is frozen.
