If you are serious about e-book making, you should invest the time into HTML/CSS. It does not have to be complex, but at least ensure you have the basic understanding. That will save you a lot of time.
Only very, very basic things can be done in Bookview. Good things can only be done in codeview with HMTL and CSS.

Actually he needs to load about Word as a word processor instead of using it like a typewriter and the problems wouldn't be there in the first place.

You're answering your question yourself. Space between paragraphs in Word should not be inserted as an empty line, but set in the style. As others here are saying, you have to learn to use Word as a wordprocessor, and you have to learn some basic html/css, if you are serious about making epubs. I think Sigil is a great gift to the epubmaking mankind, but like other tools of any trade, it has its quirks and it has a learning curve.

Hm, enough lecturing -

Kim

EXACTLY DaleD - Yes, mea culpa, I have been using it like a typewriter and THAT is obviously where the problem lies.I will do the 'word' tutorial as soon as possible.

In spite of my ignorance I have my book up there in pretty good order. I will educate my self over the next few weeks - hopefully.

Thanks everyone, John
