"E-Babel" is right but the general public will not press for a change until they are burned by it. Lots of people buy the Kindle for the user experience and that flaw is transparent to a user who sticks with Amazon purchases read on their Kindle. As long as Amazon doesn't drop the ball I don't see how they'll get enough public pressure to make Amazon change.
