PE Hardware serial console

Just opened my WSOD PE to look for the heat source that caused WSOD.
I took some pictures from the components and found debugging serial port that is jused for linux main console.

Check attched picture, serial port marked with red circle.

Here's also output from the serial console:

JTY, could you please take more pictures and if possible use a couple of lights - on either side of board to remove the glare an evenly light everything. I'm trying to build a list of what components are used. Thanks in advance.

Photos are originally much larger, but the forum software resizes them
I will try and upload them to my own server.

this could be interesting... Try using macro mode as well(if you didn't already), its the one with a flower symbol on most camera's. You can also email me the picture and I can host it if you want.

probably by using a serial cable with his PC and then using a terminal like minicom or similar to read the output...

No jtag, just plain old rs232 protocol
Just plug RX TX to the pin header, there is a MAX232 behind that pin header.
It's configured for 115.2kbps speed, i used minicom because it's the best

Via system console you can do some cool things, full access to u-boot and kernel parameters, you can even load own kernel etc.
But the best part is the kernel boots msg, there's lot of usefully information.

btw. there waas jtag pins on the motherboard for processor debugging

But still no clue what's causing WSOD.

But still no clue what's causing WSOD.
what is WSOD, ??? white screen of death ????
