Amazon does have a limited lending feature. First, there are only certain books that may be loaned out to another person. The book itself is limited if it may be loaned. It may only be loaned to ONE other person and may only be loaned for a limited two week period. It may not be loaned out a second time.

Folks with a common account (they share the credit account linked to book purchases) may all read the same book. There are limited to how many folks can be on the same account and there may even be limited on how many can read the book at one time.

And, of course, you can loan them your physical kindle.

(I'm not sure if the lend feature is available on the older kindles)

Hi:

The lending feature has nothing to do with Amazon.

The publishers decide which titles will have lending enabled. They have also imposed a one-time per life loan limitation.

Amazon simply follows what the publishers direct.

True... Amazon has nothing to do with the rules and limitations of the Lending feature. But it is their feature. Maintained and made possible by their infrastructure. And you have to go to Amazon's webpage to use the Lending feature. I don't think anyone was dissing Amazon, but just making sure that the OP was aware of Amazon's Lending Feature... regardless of how much the publishers have crippled it.
