Yesterday 10/22/09 Bookeen finally replied to my complaint from 9/25/09.
Frankly, I had thrown in the towel already and was looking in different direction, specifically at the new Nook from Barnes & Noble. It seems cooler and cheaper. But still have decided to give it a shot by trying to follow their advice and asked my relative to check his broken Cybook again. After the battery was disconnected, reconnected and fully charged the device began working again! He said that he checked the contact before, so I thought the battery was fine. Apparently it was not connected properly and discharged. Nevertheless I would expect customer support to respond before the customer gets totally frustrated after almost a month of complete silence. |

Just for fun I did a test of the Bookeen support inquiring about the crashing issue of the Opus and when the new firmware would be available (evil I know!).
I e-mailed them on the 20th October and got a reply today (the 28th). So from that end it doesn't seem too terrible. Slow, yes - but at least they did answer. Oh and for those interested in the reply: Quote:

They might have a backlog of e-mails regarding the same issue. To be honest I wasn't even expecting an answer based on what other people reported.
This just makes me a little bit more secure in my choice of the Opus - just a *little* bit. Who knows, perhaps by the time my Opus arrives (should be around middle November) the firmware will be out... |

Bookeen support? Is that not an oxymoron?
