switching to calibre from sony software

I'm seriously considering switching to calibre from the sony software. I've read some of the "dire" warning to not use both the sony s/w and calibre to manage my 505.

When I switch, should I use the sony s/w to remove everything from my 505 and then reload all the books with calibre or just start using calibre and it will "know" which books are already on the 505 and not try and upload them again?

I have no issues using both with my 505, but I generally just use the Sony software if there is something I want to purchase through Sony Connect.

Calibre will recognize the books installed on your reader so there is no need to unload them and reinstall them.
