New Nook 9" Tablet Coming

On the heels of the Nook Glowlight Plus 4 being out of stock until the end of May, I just received an e-mail message from Barnes & Noble advertising an upcoming Nook 9" Lenovo tablet. You can find it here.

Ironically, it is scheduled to be in stock two weeks before the Nook Glowlight Plus 4. I'm half-curious if they plan to phase it out in favor of the new tablet. I mean, it's Barnes & Noble, it wouldn't surprise me.

For what it may be worth, that looks very suspiciously like the Lenovo Tab M9 (9″ MTK) Tablet which is available now for $139.99 US. Save $10 and get it months earlier.

It isn't the $139.99 USD version of the Lenovo Tab M9, it's the $149.99 version (Part Number ZAC30053US), so there is no $10 savings from Lenovo directly.

The $149.99 version of this Lenovo Tab M9 has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The $139.99 version of the Tab M9 only has 3GB RAM/32GB storage.

The NOOK Lenovo Tab M9 tablet will also allow in-app purchases, apparently.
This is most likely a specific stipulation of their partnership in order to overcome the greatest complaint since Android started taking fees for in-app purchases like Apple's iOS.

If I were in the market, I think I would get the NOOK version over the standard just to purchase books in the NOOK app directly. Even better if they allow you to apply your Premium Member rewards dollars and coupon codes to purchases, then it's an absolute no brainer.

According to specs, the Nook version ships with Android 13 vs. Lenovo's Android 12.
