Corrupt Databse Problem

I have a small home network, where I have Calibre installed on 1 PC with the main database also stored there.

In addition I have 3 other laptops which run Calibre with a tiny database of different files. Finally, they are intended to run the main Calibre database accessing the files on the main PC over the network.

Two of the laptops work perfectly, but the third gives me this error after I try and access the main database from this laptop. Even after this message saying the database is corrupt, I can still access it from all 3 other pc's/laptops without any problem whatsoever.

Quote:
calibre, version 0.9.40
Corrupted database: The library database at \\BON-99\Calibre Lib\Colin appears to be corrupted. Do you want calibre to try and rebuild it automatically? The rebuild may not be completely successful.

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "site-packages\calibre\gui2\ui.py", line 576, in library_moved
File "site-packages\calibre\library\database2.py", line 198, in __init__
File "site-packages\calibre\library\database2.py", line 348, in initialize_dynamic
File "site-packages\calibre\library\sqlite.py", line 315, in run
DatabaseException: attempt to write a readonly database
RemoteTraceback (most recent call last):
File "site-packages\calibre\library\sqlite.py", line 272, in run
OperationalError: attempt to write a readonly database
I've tried uninstalling, wiping registry etc, but no luck. Any suggestions as to what may be causing the problem?

Thanks

Col

Running calibre over a network is not supported, see ==>> http://manual.calibre-ebook.com/faq....rked-drive-nas

That said, the last line hints that laptop with the problem does not have write permission to the share.

Thanks for that prompt and helpful reply. Much appreciated.

I'll have a look at the alternatives tomorrow.
