Delete books only on ereader.

All of a sudden I have four books related to Hunger Games and one other book, The Virgin Cure, that have appeared on my ereader. At no time did I download these titles and, in fact, they are NOT on my Kobo Desktop App - just the ereader itself. What is even more bizarre is the fact that if I push the button as though I wanted to read the book, nothing happens, apart from the book cover taking over the screen. I have plugged into my computer and done sync after snyn but, as I said, these titles are NOT on my desktop. How the heck can I delete them? It's not that they are doing any harm BUT it bugs me no end. I like things clean and tidy.

Does it show up in "Books"? If so, what happens if you click the side thingie with the lines and choose "delete"?

I had 6 page trial book show up on my reader that was not really worth more pages or even reading one page. Starwars *********

It took some doing, but I did get rid of them. What I can't figure out, though, is how they got onto my Kobo in the first place, given that they WERE not in the library on my computer - Kobo Desktop App.
