Question iRiver Story managed by Calibre

Hi,

I just wonder if Calibre, as shown on demo movie, can send and browse ebooks stored on iRiver Story? As for now on my laptop Calibre does not recognize iRiver's device. Is there something that I have to do to so it will be recognized?

Best regards

Marek

The device is being properly detected. However, Windows is not reporting what drive letter has been assigned to the device. There is nothing calibre can do to fix this. It's an issue with your install of Windows.

I am using TotalCommander and I see what letter device was assigned by Windows. I can also transfer files that way. I will try other machine (Windows 7).

i've a solution for the: "Unable to detect the IRIVER_STORY disk drive." problem

simply put a SD memory inside the extra expansion slot, i've put a 16MB one that i don't use, and the probem was solved
and boom... problem resolved

Dont forget to send the contents of /tmp/ioreg.txt
You can open it with the command: open /tmp/ioreg.txt

That file is too long so I refrain from posting it here.

Update: I thought I would take it off the line and compare the output: no difference!

Your device is not being detected by the computer at all. Try a different usb port/usb cable/computer

Thx, the embarrassing fact was that the device was in blocked state and I, being used to the Iliad, thought that a connection is possible without chosing a menu item.
