Sony and opensource codes.
I mailed Sony to ask for their source codes of the reader.
This is their reply:

Anyone knows if Sony is required to release their opensource codes?
Anyway if there's someone really wanting them, and can do something with their source codes, the above link seems to be the first step.

So, can you do something with it? I mean, can you create programs and patches, updates or software gadgets with it?

I've seen so little being released for the sony, knowing that it's the most sold ebook reader at this time!

Not sure what is "software gadgets" but yes, you can make programs for Reader, though it's not simple.
