Richard Marchinko
What do you all think of Richard Marchinko's Rogue Warrior series? I am just starting them now.

I read them in paper as them came out. I loved them.
Marchinco's situation is fairly unique. His first book was not fiction, but was published as an autobiography--as a factual account of what he did. But the following books were novels that picked right up where true life left off. I've always thoroughly enjoyed that. A lot of what he claimed he actually did was more exciting than other guys' pure fiction. |

To understand what Marchinko is talking aobut in his novels is it necessary to read them in publication order? Do characters in his later novels make references to things that happened in earlier novels?

He definitely references things in prior books but if I recall, I think he always gives enough background/reminder information to make it understandable.
