PDF TOC help

<p class="calibre2">Chapter 1 General Policies</p>

<p class="calibre2">Section 1 General Statement</p>

<p class="calibre2"><b class="calibre3">Volume 5</b></p>

<p class="calibre2"><b class="calibre3">Chapter 1</b></p>

<p class="calibre2"><b class="calibre3">General Policies</b></p>

<p class="calibre2"><b class="calibre3">Section 1</b></p>

<p class="calibre2"><b class="calibre3">General Statement</b></p>

I am looking to get Chapter 1 General Policies as the top and then under it, section 1 general statement.

<p class="calibre2">Chapter 1 General Policies</p>

<p class="calibre2">Section 2 Checklist Philosophy Normal Procedures</p>

<p class="calibre2">Flightdeck Checklist</p>

<p class="calibre2"><b class="calibre3">Volume 5</b></p>

<p class="calibre2"><b class="calibre3">Section 2</b></p>

<p class="calibre2"><b class="calibre3">Checklist Philosophy Normal Procedures</b> </p>

<p class="calibre2"><b class="calibre3">Flightdeck Checklist</b></p>

<p class="calibre2"><b class="calibre3">A. Philosophy</b></p>

Other chapters have this. I am trying to get Chapter 1, and under it Section 2, then capture the a. philosophy under it.
Some chapters just have sections under them, and others have things under the sections. I have tried acrobat and made tags to reflect this, but they do not get carried over to Calibre.

How can I accomplish this to make a toc? This is from calibre

Thanks in advance!

Keith

You'll need to use the TOC option in the conversion options. The options expect an XPath expression to describe what chapter headings look like. You'll probably want to use somethig like the following:
Code:
Layer 1:
//h:p[re:test(., 'chapter', 'i')]
Layer 2:
//h:p[re:test(., 'chapter', 'i')]
Layer 3:
//h:p[re:test(., '[a-z]\.\s', 'i')]
(Note that these expressions may or may not work, they're mostly intended to get you started. There's a XPath tutorial available in case you need it. Also note that this might only work if there's no TOC already present- if there is, you'll need to force the use of the autogenerated TOC, see the TOC options page in the conversion options for that.)
