Interesting thought, yvanleterrible .... If you're thinking what I think you're thinking, I expect your right that it would help the white be whiter ... but I'm also wondering if it wouldn't make the black less black ....

They've been playing with this stuff for a while, presumably trying to get it better and better, I wouldn't be surprised if they've already tried most of the ideas we're coming up with. On the other hand, coming up with the ideas is a lot of fun.

The thing is that even reading grey on white is better than reading dark grey on pale gray. Just try a charcoal drawing for a comparison.

Im not so convinced that a whiter background is what we need.
White on Black is far easier on the eyes than black on white.

I disagree!
As one who has used the first PCs where the only displays were white on black or orange on greenish black, I was totally exhilarated by the first Mac's use of the opposite.

Try this site that way, if it's possible!
