Hiding the B&N menu/circle

I love my rooted Nook Color, but don't really use the B&N shortcuts that the little half-circle offers...is there a way to hide it? I keep hitting it when I type.

Install a Customer launcher like Zeam or ADW and running them in full screen will hide it for the most part.

However since this is built in to the Notifications bar it will still show up when this is active. like when a App runs and the Notifications bar is shown,

There is probably a way to edit this completely out, but I have not seen any devs do it yet. you might Trying heading over to XDA and Requesting it.
